About Our Guest:
Nia Bright is the owner of Good Vibrations Rock Shop, a crystal shop and event space in downtown Stratford. Her journey into entrepreneurship began following a life-altering thyroid condition in 2016 that led her to explore holistic wellness. Today, she's an expert in the metaphysical properties of stones, curating rare and high-quality crystals from around the world. Beyond retail, Nia has developed online crystal courses, making crystal education accessible to a broader audience.
Homegrown 2025 Event Panelist
Homegrown is a series of gatherings for female-identifying rural business owners in Ontario.
Homegrown is a day to pause, connect, and come back to what matters. Whether you come on your own or with a few good friends, you’ll leave with fresh perspective, new connections, and maybe even a few ideas ready to take root.
Part pep rally, part summer camp, part business conference, Homegrown provides a forum to hear the stories of other female rural business owners, fill your cup with support and encouragement, build personal and business connections, and celebrate the creativity and resiliency of rural life.
This is storytelling, learning, growth and lunch alongside 100 new friends in a beautiful rural setting - not capital-B BUSINESS with a corporate crew.
Adventures In Unique Businesses Speaker
I had the honour of speaking at a Stratford District Chamber of Commerce event, where I got to share a behind-the-scenes look at the journey of building Good Vibrations Rock Shop, from our unconventional start, to the challenges and pivots, to the absolute magic that happens when you build a business rooted in community, joy, and purpose. 💕
We talked about:
💡 What makes our shop unique in the wellness world
📈 Creative ways we’ve maximized revenue in a small space
🌱 Building real relationships with our community
💖 And why I truly love what I do
It was such a beautiful reminder of how powerful storytelling is, and how important it is to share not just our successes, but the messy middle, the unexpected turns, and the lessons we pick up along the way.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support, connect, and celebrate small business. The future is looking bright ✨
My Main Street Recipient
We are so honoured to be one of the recipients of the My Main Street grant in 2024. As a newer business, it is so incredibly validating to be recognized for this grant. We will be using the funds we receive to continue making our shop the best it can be by investing in exterior signage to become more visible, improving lighting to better highlight our products, adding blinds for privacy during events, upgrading equipment for more efficiency, and more.
This project is supported by the My Main Street program, the Canadian Urban Institute, and the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
Stratford Today
Celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary & our contribution to the community!
Right place, right time, right frame of mind.
It all came together perfectly for Nia (Marissa) Murray and Michael Strug, co-owners of Good Vibrations Rock Shop in downtown Stratford, and as they celebrate their one-year anniversary with the store under their ownership Murray talked about their being in just the right place to take advantage of it.
“In some ways, the shop just fell into our laps - obviously it was an incredible amount of work to open and build into what we have now but something bigger than us was very much at work when that happened,” she said. “I had this moment one night where I was really struggling with the direction my life was going; I wasn’t happy with my job at the time, I was struggling to find purpose and see a real future for myself. I put out a call to the universe that I wanted my life to change in a massive way.”
